Church Picnic Lunch

The congregation is invited to a ‘Church Picnic Lunch' for all ages, to be held after the service today.  The venue will be the church forecourt or the hall, if weather is inclement.  We have barbecue food including vegetarian, with some delicious cakes etc. to follow.  If barbecue fare is not your ‘thing' then we can provide alternative tasty bites. There is no fixed charge but donations can be made.  We hope that many people will support this fun event. Your support will be much appreciated! Thank you!

New Names

We are looking for suggestions for a fitting name for the new Parish once our union with Dairsie takes place. We also require a new name for "Aspire". Please write any ideas on a piece of paper with your name on it and give it to the Session Clerk.

Scottish Bible Society

Your contributions in May, which can be placed in the calendar pocket in the vestibule, will help to provide Bibles for the Mobile Bible Shop in Namibia.  Thank you for your support.

Summer Services

During the summer, as in previous years, Services in Dairsie and in St John's will be shared jointly between a Minister and Teams from the Congregations.  Each Service will last approximately 45 minutes.  Volunteers from the Congregations willing to help by Leading Services, Prayers, Bible Reading or giving Short Talks are asked to contact Bill Mackenzie.

Greetings

Whilst in New Zealand, I had the pleasure of worshipping in Knox Church, Christchurch, a very warm congregation who made visitors welcome.  I spoke with the Minister, Rev Geoff King and gave greetings from St John's.  He asked that I pass on Knox Church greetings to the congregation of St John's on my return.  I am happy to do this through the church news.   Margaret Pullar
