The four Session Teams are as follows…

Faith and Support: Convener - Bill Mackenzie

Fellowship and Outreach: Joint Conveners - Doreen Smith, Christine MacKay, Betty Paterson.

Finance: Convener - Norman Fraser

Property: Joint Conveners - Ian Wotherspoon, Michael McGhie

The Session Teams all have conveners, vice conveners and minute secretaries (who do not require to be elders), and are elected by the Teams. A notice board in the hall will provide more information about the work of the Session Teams. A short report of ongoing work is made to the Kirk Session meetings, and minutes are lodged with the Session Clerk.

Members of the congregation and interested attenders of St John’s are welcome to become part of the teams. Please contact the minister if wishing to become more involved. The teams consist of elders and up to an equal number of members of the congregation. It is expected that service of non elders will be on a three year block, with an opportunity to continue beyond that if desired.

It is possible to be involved in the work of a Session Team without being a member of that particular Session Team. Eg Elders who are not on Faith and Support will continue to have districts, and members of the congregation involved in Refreshments may not wish to serve on Fellowship and Outreach Team, but are of course welcome to do so.

Each Session Team has a budget to save constant reference to the Treasurer, but for major decisions going beyond the finance agreed in the remit, the Team concerned should present the matter to the Kirk Session.

Everyone serving on a Session Team is expected to be on a Sunday duty rota unless excepted eg Sunday School leaders.
